Tapehead - Live At Galleri 14k April 81 Cassette 1981
Tapehead were T.S Hoeg, Per Jacobsen, Niels Thomsen and sometimes Vagn E Olsen. They released two tapes on legendary label Gry Records. I think this is the first one. The music is elements of free improvisation, free jazz, and straight up experimental sounds. Great stuff!

Lister / Johnny Yen - Pop Cycles LP 1985
Excellent double bill from these Norwegian gentlemen. I noticed that Johnny Yens side of this record is up on Spotify, but, sadly, Listers great side is missing from the whole internet. Please get this masterpiece!

Mekano Christmas Party LP 1985
Obscure synth and pop compilation from the short-lived Mekano records. Among the better known acts on this one we can see Car Skid and Crash, Paris Bizarre (one of Tom Wolgers projects) and assorted bits done by Janis Bokalders. Excellent stuff if you like this sort of plastic synth music!

Fifty/Fifty - 50/50 LP 1983
Interesting experimental record by two guys from Danish pop band Voxpop. These four tracks were, as the insert tells us, some experiments recorded on tape at home. Not ambient, as I thought it would be, but rather some jazzy funk tracks, experimental synth and bleakness.

Astral Dance - Mindgate LP 1986
Weird album that seems to be getting more and more expensive. I don't know much about the band. Seems that they were based in Stockholm, Sweden and consisted of two guys. Although it looks like a new age-record it also has elements of more experimental stuff and symphonic rock.

Öyvind Fahlström - Öyvind Fahlström i etern - Manipulera världen 2CD 1999
The Swedish master of text sound composition, Öyvind Fahlström, made two very exciting radioplays in the 60's. In this great and sold-out book we can hear almost the complete versions of "Fåglar i Sverige (Birds in Sweden)" and "Den helige Torsten Nilsson (The holy Torsten Nilsson)". This is experimental poetry / narrative in it's most pure form. Great stuff.

Peter Peter - Beware Of The Lulu Cassette 1988
Peter Peter Schneidermann started out in one of Denmarks first punk bands, then called Sods but later famous under the name Sort Sol. During the eighties Peter also participated in various interesting experimental groups. I believe this cassette came with a fanzine, but unfortunately I don't have it. This cassette is a very experimental affair.

The Audience / Dede - Världsvan Nervositet Cassette 1982
A strange and very rare tape from the depths of the Swedish underground. I don't know anything about The Audience, but they sound a bit like Danny & The Dressmakers. Short songs performed in an amateurish way with loads of humor. This recording seems to be from a live performance. Dede was a punk poet from Gothenburg. Sort of a legendary figure, I suppose. I'd love to know more about this release!

Tom Wolgers - Rush Music 12" 1986
It seems it was only yesterday I could pick up Wolgers records for about 10 eur each. These days the prices have sky-rocketed and all of his solo works seems to be very hard to find. Time for a reissue? I know there have been talks with Tom about this. This is sort of middle-era Wolgers, between synth pop and full-on ambient. Great stuff!

Green's Restaurant - Viktoriaplan Cassette 1990
Another cassette from the brilliant Patrik Markusson and his Green's Restaurant. At this point he was in full midi-mode but despite of this kind of synth-sound the music is still brilliant and full of interesting turns and stops. Do not miss this stuff!

Green's Restaurant - Mulna Dagar Cassette 1988
Green's Restaurant were from Sweden and participated in the very interesting experimental scene in the late 80's. They released a lot of cassettes and one LP full of strange and wonderful music. This is the bands third release.

Knep & Knåp Cassette 1986
Another one of local organization 33-45 based in Malmö, Sweden. This is their annual report in 1986 showing a lot of great bands from the area. Ana Chron Sex also made one excellent goth single. Påskharen made one incomprehensible single and also appears on the newly released "Ingen våg"-compilation on Rundgång Rekords (check it out!). Page is silly minimal synth as usual. Dr Evil & the Boys From Below were an industrial band that also made a single at about the same time as this release. Sun Connections features Louise Epstein, now a famous radio host in Sweden. Anathema is great goth rock (also made a single). Arvid Tuba is, of course, the famous drum machine-poet from Falun. The rest is pretty decent rock from -86. All very obscure and intriguing.

Det Elektriske Kjøkken - Elefanterne Er Kommet LP 1982
Det Elektriske Kjøkken were an experimental prog/punk/post punk/experimental band from Trondheim in Norway. The band consisted of Sven Erga, Ragnar Wold and André Lister, started out in the late 70's and released one experimental prog LP called "Konkret rock" before releasing this masterpiece in 1982. I suppose they were influenced by the most interesting bands at the time, like PIL and a whole bunch of other stuff. But they managed to make something really unique in the process and there's tons of ideas floating around here. Just listen to a track like "Sirkel". After this release the band split up and Lister continued to release some interesting solo records. Don't miss this one!

Cockpit Music - Salute For General Wasteland LP 1983
This is the third album from those loveable, crazy jazz-danes. Cockpit music was and is hard to describe. There's elements of world music, jazz (off course), punk (small traces) and good old experimentation for the heck of it. I suppose they had a very organized idea of how they wanted to sound. I had a hard time separating the tracks - so it's just side A and side B.

Bengt Emil Johnson - Gubbdrunkning 7" 1965
Bengt Emil Johnson is my favorite swedish poet. For those of you who don't know him he made his debut in the 60's writing concrete poetry andproducing some fantastic books. He also participated in the creative milieu around Fylkingen in Stockholm where he produced very interesting text-sound compositions. This is his third book of poetry which was accompanied by a 7" single with two compositions. I will not even begin to translate the title.

No Knox - Filibuster LP 1984
No Knox were one of the first punk bands in Denmark and started off with a very experimental take on the punk idiom. I just read on their page on danish wikipedia that the early concerts were compared to Residents. The only recorded songs from this early period can be found on the major danish punk compilations, "Pære Punk" and "Concert of the Moment". This, however, is a more weird album. Not so much punk as some kind of theatre music or ironic music. I don't know what the purpose of this album was but it's an interesting ride.

Klima LP 1990
A nice compilation of experimental danish band. Side A is electronic bands, with examples of ambient, EBM and weird stuff while the B side is the real deal with more jazz-oriented bands like Picnic and Cockpit Music. The band Vanviddets Husarer participates with one track from their cassette, which i would love to hear.
