Bullshot Babies - Frankensteins Heart Cassette 1983
Don't know much about Bullshot Babies. At some point they were located in Lund, Sweden, and were led by singer-guitarist Michael Seldevall. Apart from this cassette they also released a self-released mini-LP. After Bullshot Babies Seldevall moved to Stockholm and played in Hedda Gambler. This is raw, dark punk.

Brainbombs - Jack The Ripper Lover 7" 1989
Classic single from noise rock maniacs from Hudiksvall, Sweden. I believe both of these maniacs also played in the excellent industrial band Eingürdetz. Much recommended!

Urban Släke - Så Fri 7" 1983
Urban Släke were one of the first punk bands in Gotland, Sweden, an island located between the Swedish main land and Finland. They released one superb punk single around 1980 and then returned a couple of years later with this one. The music has matured and is along the lines of the sound of the times. A bit post punk and bit of what was sometimes called "rebel rock" in the Swedish music press.

Die Kapelle - Nulpunkt 7" 1984
Die Kapelle were a Danish band that released a stream of records in the mid-eighties. This was their first single. I believe they released it themselves. Sometimes they sound like a better version of D.A.D, sometimes like a goth band, sometimes like a punk band. Great stuff!

Liv & Lust Cassette 1985
33-45 were a music organization located in Malmö, Sweden. They arranged tons of gigs and released a compilation tape every year with obscure local bands. I believe there's a group on Facebook dedicated to this organization. This is the 1985 release with loads of great, unknown stuff. Kabinett Död just released a great LP on Rundgång (and Peter Out records), Blago Bung does one of their best tracks ever, Babylon Blues does one song that also were recorded by Imperiet, Ana Chron Sex were a great goth band with female vocals. Also, Scanners were one of the guys from Unter Den Linden. The rest of the bands is interesting post punk / garage / wave-stuff.

Alle Tiders Duster - Velkommen Hjem 7" 1981
Alle Tiders Duster were from Bergen, Norway. They formed as a punk band but soon developed in a more interesting direction, influenced by bands like Throbbing Gristle and Magazine. This is their first single where you can hear a lot of influence from Wire. Short, energetic punk anthems sung in norwegian.

Vi Har Rätt Till Jobb LP 1979
Here's another piece of the Pinheads-puzzle. Some of the members of Pinheads also played in TBC, which were kind of the first punk band in Umeå. This record deals with some kind of organization to promote workers rights and features the most important band from the small nordic town at the time. TBC later became Pinheads. Checkpoint Charlie and Rikets Affärer both made one single each at approximately the same time as this record. Steve Roper Band made three records, two of which are very hard to find. Every band plays nice power pop through punk or pub rock with lots of political discontent. The B-side of this record is mostly boring old Swedish folk music, so I haven't ripped it.

Dansa Med Mamma BOX 1983
The indie record label from Gävle in the early 80's were called Mamma and this was their big release. A pizza carton-style box with 4 singles containing the best bands from Gävle at the time. The best one is, of course, the Modern Art-track. The rest of the songs is in the range of new wave to punk with the bands Traste & Superstararna, PF Commando, Ex-Pop, Zeke Varg, Vertex, Pinballs and Human Error.

Pinheads - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack From Out Of Focus (with Mistakes An'all) LP 1983
This is their second LP and the first one with Trevor Searle as the singer. This is full-on garage rock with mostly covers of the classics in this genre, with some interesting parts but mostly music for people with full time jobs that come home and just want to be entertained. My favourite is the hidden closing track: another adaption of their song "Hemming Sten" filtered through their silly humour. Rock on, guys!

Pinheads - Please Look 7" 1983
For this release Kenneth and Jan Marklund had left the band. They were replaced with Erik Danielsson on guitar and the englishman-in-Umeå Trevor Searle. I think they lost a great deal of originality during this period, but perhaps this was the point - they did mostly covers, like any good garage band. This, however, is two Pinheads-penned songs and one cover done live. Moderately good pop music, but people gotta hear this!

Pinheads - Greatest Hits Vol. 2 7" 1980
Pinheads from Umeå again. This is their first release so there's no "Greatest hits vol. 1". Just a bad joke. From the spoken parts on this record you can guess that they had quite silly humor. The best song here is of course "Hemming Sten", their version of "Stepping stone". A song about the stupidity of critics. This is the best punk single in the world ever.

Pinheads - With The Pinheads LP 1981
Pinheads were on of the first punk groups in Umeå, Sweden, and made quite a lot of records. This is their second release, after their first single but before they morphed into the garage-rock band they later became. This is the best swedish punk LP ever, in my humble opinion.
